I’m the lead developer for SOOMPI.com which is an entertainment site for fans of Korean pop music, dramas and movies – think Entertainment Weekly for Korea, but in English. We have a fairly big community with over 140,000 registered members and about 30,000 visitors a day.

I’ve been doing web “stuff” for a little over a decade now (which is about 70 web years), implementing drupal sites for about 2 of those years. I hope to one day be a drupal ninja.

Theming

Session Description

Want to learn the basic concepts of making your site look like your want? Ever thought Drupal was ugly? Well here’s how to fix it. We’ll take a hands-on approach to creating Drupal themes, from basic page.tpl.php to theme overrides to defining custom template files. Then we’ll learn about theming popular modules (and components), specifically views, CCK, and user profiles. Lastly, we’re going to take a look at what’s new in Drupal 6.

Prerequisites: Knowledge of PHP and some Drupal.

Session Presenter: Dmitri Gaskin
Presenter Info
You can see my main Bio at http://drupal.org/user/47566. I've contributed several modules. I maintain the Views Bonus Pack, along with the Comment CCK module and the Util module. I have experience in jQuery, CSS, HTML, PHP (mostly), and Drupal, in core, profile, theming (although I have a horrible and skewed sense of design. I can critique it but I can't design my own stuff) and module development.
